Q: How long does the Primer’s battery last, and is it user replaceable?
A: All Primers have been shipped with 2500mAh lithium-polymer batteries. These batteries are good for approximately 4-6 hours of video playback, 20+ hours of audio playback, and 12 hours of reading. We use lithium-polymer due to their reliability and capacity, but the trade-off is the battery is not user replaceable.
Q: Since the battery isn’t user replaceable, what can I do if the battery dies?
A: If the battery dies within the 1 year warranty period, that would be unusual, and you would be entitled to a replacement. Please remember to fill out the warranty card and register online.
Q: Does the Primer have a touch screen?
A: No, but we will be releasing a touch screen unit in the near future.
Q: Can it zoom in on text?
A: Yes, it can zoom in up to 3 times from the original text size.
Q: Does it support DRM eBooks?
A: Yes, we have a licensing agreement with Adobe to support DRM eBooks
Q: Does the Primer support kindle ebooks?
A: No, currently only the Amazon Kindle and devices supporting the Kindle app can support Kindle ebooks. With DRM support, you can download ebooks from Google, eBooks.com
Q: Does it support text-to-speech?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Where can I get free eBooks from?
A: Free books are available online through resellers like eBooks.com, feedbooks.com, and through public domain collections like Gutenberg.org.
Q: What is the full list of languages the Primer supports?
A: The Primer supports English, French, Spanish, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Korean, Japanese, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, German, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Czech, and Arabic
Q: I have seen similar products available online, are these also produced by SKYTEX?
A: Unless the product has the Primer branding and SKYTEX name on the back, it is not produced or supported by SKYTEX. We’ve made adjustments to the screen brightness, the software, and the user interface that are uniquely our own. We cannot vouch for the quality or reliability of the other products.
